This is going to be my 7th year teaching, and my first year teaching grades 3-5. My certification is K-12 Special Education, and I taught high school resource and inclusion for 5 years and self-contained grades 7 & 8 for one. I've never taught anyone other than teenagers, and now I will be venturing into the unknown (to me) world of elementary education! At first, I was nervous, because my self-contained students will not be on grade level, and I may be teaching K-2 academics. A HUGE jump! The more teaching blogs I read, and the more time I spent on Pinterest, the more excited I have become about starting this new chapter in my career.
